1 LIFE INSURANCE POLICY- DEATH & LIFE COVER IS A ****

My dad passed away on the 24 September 2022. He had a life cover policy which included a funeral cover of R50 000. I reported the passing of my dad to 1Life insurance with the hope that they will assist us in buying my dad with dignity as per their original contract with my dad when he took out the policy.

1. After multiple calls and being sent from pillar to post we DID NOT GET ANY SUPPORT FROM 1 Life. I was asked to go and get my dad’s medical questionnaire which they never asked him for when he was alive. How do I get a medical report on someone who died at the comfort of his home without complaining of anything? My dad was not a sickly person, and he did not have a medical aid. 2. Both funeral and life cover are not paid yet almost 2 months later. 3. TO TOP IT WORSE, 1 LIFE CONTINUED TO DEDUCT MONEY FOR MY DAD’s POLICY EVEN AFTER HE WAS REPORTED DEAD AND THEY WERE IN POSSESSION OF ALL DOCUMENTS CERTIFYING HIS DEATH DUE TO NATURAL CAUSES. 4. Multiple emails were sent to 1Life regarding the ******** deduction of funds for my dad’s policy, now I’m not getting responses anymore. 5. I had to make loans to burry my dad while he had taken a life policy todate he/ his grace doesn’t even have a grave marker or a tombstone as I cannot afford it.

My mom is affected, my siblings are affected, I really can’t deal with this unnecessary trauma 1 Life they are putting me through and my family. Instead of us morning our loved ones we are dealing with 1 Life, is it really fair? Isn’t my dad’s passing enough trauma and stress to last us for a life time???

I have a policy with 1 Life and many more family members has, if something happens to me my minors will not get any support, Is it really worth it to pay so much money for such horrible service with 1 Life??

1 Life doesn’t have the best interest of the customers. I was told by claim consultants that NOW THEY HAVE RECEIVED ALL DOCUMENTS THEY NEEDED TO PROCESS THE CLAIM, I WILL ONLY HERE FROM THE ASSESSOR IN 10 WORKING DAYS BUT IT STILL GOING TO TAKE LONGER FOR THE PROCESSES???

What processes as my dad died worse cause HE DIED OF NATURAL CAUSES.
