FICA Documents

I have a Woolworths Credit Card, which I have had for a few years now. I received a call yesterday from the call centre advising that I need to hand in FICA documents. When I contacted the call centre today to query what is going on, i was advised that Woolworths requires that their customers provide FICA documents on a yearly basis. Once I hand in my documents, I will then be required to only FICA myself when I collect my new card. This is very confusing...Which do you want - docs on an annual basis or on collection of my card. I am quite happy to provide my documents on collection of a new card, which is something I have been doing. Why contact me now, 2 years after I collected my card and tell me that I need to provide FICA. I would appreciate it if someone could give me a more acceptable reason for handing in FICA now when my card expires in March 2013.
