Vodacom wont help customers

I was contacted in August last year by Vodacom. I assumed it was to upgrade my phone as it was getting to that time period. They delivered my new phone and I signed for it. A month later my account was debited for R460-00 and I was in utter shock as I have been with Vodacom for the last 15 years and have been on a top up contract for all of that time that has cost me R160-00 per month. When I rang them they told me that my contract has been changed. I told them that I never wanted to change my contract and could they please change it back.

Every week since then (5 months on) I have been calling, emailing and begging for someone to help me which no one has. I have since found out that the contract they have put me on I can only call from 8pm to 7am this is therefore causing me to suffer loss of income. I have never been sent a bill so don't know what they even charge me for each month. I cannot believe how Vodacom could possibly treat a customer like this.

My question is with the new consumer protection act can a person be held to a two year contract that doesn't serve them in any way or form and what do I have to do to get someone at Vodacom to help?

Not Impressed: Almost a week later and no one has bothered to contact me - typical response!!!
