| FORCED CANCELLATION:Just over 3 months ago I took out a contract with Voda Shop Stellenbosch after utilising Vodacom's service as a pre-paid client for over 5 yrs. I applied for a Nokia N8, with a 3 mnth 100MB deal. The sales person activated the phone instore & handed it over to me. Before I left the store, I asked the sales person whether I will be charged for all the "widgets" flying around on the screen & I was told, "that only if I open an application & it starts to download, then I will be charged." This exercise I followed out thrice, again with the same sales person, one at Voda Shop Cape Gate & with a consultant on the tollfree line of Vodacom. On all four occasions I was told that there will be no charge. I suddenly found myself with a bill on 28 December 2011 of over R1000.00, with 99% of the costs related to data charges. The Voda Shop Stellenbosch' response,"I should have read the manual". Vodacom S.A.response (after consulting more than 6 agents on different numbers and departments) was that it not something that they can resolve but only the store where I signed the contract. | Utterly Disgusted: the consultant handling the complaint was arrogant w.r.t.vodacom's "gesture of goodwill" in paying some of the data account &they can revoke it &i am still responsible for the account. I picked up that his call was to emphasise that their billing is spot on! vodacom is partly responsible&accountable 4 the way in which clients are recruited. Assistants = trained, skilled, knowledgeable &competent in helping walk in clients with the assumption they know nothing.i asked for a breakdown. refer CPA! | |||
