MY BIRTHDAY IS IN EARLY JAN. I GOT 2 SHIRTS (UZZI/TRUWORTHS). BOTH WERE SLIMFIT. I HAD TO EXCHANGE. BOTH PRICE TAGS WERE ON THE SHIRTS. WHEN I RETURNED I HAD TO GO TO SEPERATE SHOPS, ALTHOUGH THEY WERE BOTH PURCHASED TOGETHER, WERE THERE IS A BRANCH THAT INCL UZZI SHOP. JANUARY IS SALE TIME. WHEN I RETURNED THE 2 SHIRTS, I GET TOLD THAT FOR THE R640 PURCHASE I ONLY GET R480, AS NOW ON SALE. I CAN ONLY GET FULL REFUND IF I HAVE SLIP. BOTH SHOPS MENTIONED THIS TO ME. I RODE FROM HARTBEESPOORT DAM TO SANDTON TO EXCHANGE, BUT WAS UNABLE TO DO SO. THEN I HAD TO GO TO MONDEOR TO GET THE SLIP FROM MY SISTER. THEN BACK TO TRUWORTHS TO EXCHANGE. I ALSO RECEIVED A SHIRT FROM WOOLWORTHS, THAT I EXCHANGED . WHAT A RELIEF. GOT A FULL REFUND ON A GIFT CARD. NO STORIES FROM WOOLWORTHS. WOOOLWORTHS IS A PLEASURE TO BUY FROM. PERHAPS TRUWORTHS WILL START TO REALISE THE NEW CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT AND TAKE THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS TO HEART AND NOT TO MISTREAT WHEN DOING RETURNS. |

Hello hilton108, Thank you for your feedback and allowing us the opportunity to respond. Under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), a retailer is not obliged to accept the return of goods that are not defective or that were purchased through an in-store transaction once the sale has been concluded. Truworths however has a generous returns policy that allows customers to return goods for a refund or exchange within 30 days of purchase provided that the docket is retained as proof of purchase; the swing ticket is attached; the item has not been worn and is in its original condition. In the case of a gift being returned, we accept a gift receipt that is available at the time that the purchase is made. This allows for an effortless exchange. We realise that you were inconvenienced and we sincerely hope that this response assists you in understanding why our stores were not able to assist you in the manner that you would have liked. In conclusion, Truworths believes it has a fair returns policy and that this policy is adequately communicated to customers. Kind regards Amina |

| Not Impressed: i dealt with a lady who apologised and then i asked why apologies, it is truworth's policy. it does not seem very customer friendly. i exchanged 2 shirts at woolworths and had no problem at all. a 2nd person called to assist, but she did not even understand, my hellopeter message, or perhaps she did not even read. i am not impressed with truworths. they will not refund as was on account, so the person that purchased the gift i have to go back to them so that they can refund . | |||
