To Truworths Customer Care I purchased a necklace (jewellery item number 279847495205), as a birthday gift from the Canal Walk store in Western Cape on the 6 August 2011 to value of R250.00. I presented it to the person as a gift and as she tried on the necklace it broke. Also bearing it in mind that when the consultant assisted me at the store she was about to package the necklace for me and it also broke on exactly the same place, so the consultant gave me a other one instead of the broken one. You may check the breakage records of the store for that date to confirm it. I believe that the quality of this item was very poor and I would not like to associate Truworths with poor quality. I attempted to return the item in December 2011 as I was not in Cape Town for 3.5 months but the consultant told me I cannot return the item as the policy states it may only be returned within 30 days and then I asked the consultant if they cannot repair jewellery item and she said that Truworths does not repair jewellery items.
