Good morning On the 5th of December 2011, i received a sms from Truworths stating the following: "Your R1400 credit limit & R1000 voucher offer from TRUWORTHS is waiting for you MR. X, visit any TRUWORTHS 2 activate b4 31 Jan with your ID" So on the 4th of Jan 2012 i went to activate my account at Truworths and bought for just less that R1000 (thinking i had a R1000 voucher), when it came to checkout, they phoned for the voucher number and used the voucher. The manager even said that I was "LUCKY" to get a R1000 voucher. To my shock, i received a sms from Truworths on the 27th of Jan stating that my account was R819 which i must now pay. I phoned costumer support and the man said the R1000 was devided into 5 months of R200 each. NO ONE INDICATED THAT TO ME, not even at checkout at the Branch. He also said that a letter was sent to me stating how the voucher worked (i never received the letter to this date). When i went to the branch to get assistance on this, the manager just said "phone head office to sort this out". i have not yet payed my account and i will not pay it. Can you please assist with this matter. Thank you Regards |

Hello wolfjohan, Whenever our customers take the time to raise a concern, we see it as extremely serious and that is why we immediately started an investigation. The Store Manager specifically remembers assisting you upon your visit to store on 04 January 2012. The terms and conditions of the fashion vouchers were communicated to you prior to your first purchase and again once the sale was processed. The original offer letter that was posted to you contained all the relevant information pertaining to this offer and also included the terms and conditions of the fashion vouchers. We are concerned to hear that you have not received this letter as your postal address was confirmed as being correct. The SMS referred to you in your post was a reminder of the expiry date of the offer and therefore would not have included all the relevant information as the original offer letter. We apologise for any upset that this has caused you and we'd like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Truworths fashion family.
