| My husband bought me a dress for Christmas. There is nothing physically wrong with the dress, but it simply does not suit or fit me properly. The dress was purchased on 19 December 2011 and still has its price tag attached, and I have the till slip. I tried to return the dress once in early January but, as a result of the Truworths Sale at the time, could not go near the customer services department to return it. On about 10 January, I became very ill with Dengue Fever and was basically on my back in bed for more than 2 weeks. During this time, I had to cancel and overseas holiday to Kenya. On 31 January, for the first time in 3 weeks, I returned back to a shopping centre and attempted to return the dress but was told that I could not return it because more than 30 days had passed! I understand this policy, and I know it is written on the back of the till slip, but surely under circumstances such as these an exception can be made? I contacted customer services but received no reply within the promised "2 days". | |||

Hello sfp30, Thank you for forwarding us our feedback and allowing us to respond. The Truworths returns policy states that we will gladly accept the return of merchandise provided that all the relevant requirements are met. One of these requirements is that the merchandise must be returned together with the original invoice or a gift receipt. . We are happy to exchange your dress as we understand that you were unable to return the garment due to circumstance beyond your control. We believe that arrangements have been made with the Store Manager and that you will be visiting the store at your earliest convenience to exchange your gift. We sincerely hope you have recovered from your illness and that you are pleased with the outcome of your query.
