Confusion over booking

I booked 3 tickets for my dad; and two sins from Pietermaritzburg to JHB for the 14th Jan 2012.
I called the call centre and booked on the 11th, and was advised to go into a translux office or checkers and pay.
I paid at checkers, sophiatown on the 12th and told asked the ladies where my dad can fetch the tickets in Pietermaritzburg, and they advised that he can fetch it at the translux office but went on to give us ''copies'' of the tickets. I paid and left.
I then sms'd my dad the 3 reference numbers for himself and my two sons. He went to the ticket office and was told that he cannot have tickets because we took it and we need to give the tickets to him?

Really?!!!! All the way from Jhb to KZN? Then I would not have wasted my time buying tickets.

Anyway I then called the call centre and was told that my dad has no choice but to go to the pick up point at the time of departure and take his ID book along with that of my sons. my sons do not have any ID, they are on holiday! Now we have been asked to go to checkers and void the tickets so my parents can drive all the way back to the translux office to pick up new ones? I give up! The service stinks!!
