I would like to pass on my appreciation for the wonderful experience I had with TopMed during my recent hospital stay. I had to rush to the Cape Gate MediClinic on Sunday for what turned out to be a painful kidney stone. I was worried about pre-authorisations and paperwork, since Mediclinic admitted me for three separate procedures during the week that followed and TopMed are very specific about their requirements. I therefore expected a long process of explaining and arguing over technicalities while specialists breathed down my neck to get paid, but TopMed came through every time and paid out each claim in full. I have only been a Hospital Plan member for about six months, and I do not think that I received any special treatment, which makes me hopeful that my experience was indicative of the kind of service I can expect from TopMed. This gives me a and my wife peace of mind, knowing that we are in good hands if a "real" emergency ever occurs. Thank you TopMed! |
