| Joined in 2006 with a 12 month waiting period of not claiming anything. Then after 5 years of the absolute service, when I wanted to leave this medical aid as at 31st Jan 2012, all of a sudden I'm told my account is in debited in arrears and since I collect my chronic medication in january I must pay. Thus my new medical aid deducted their R7000 on the 1st feb, as well as Topmed. I have never paid in arrears for medical aid. Yet I get a bill from a Dr from16th jan, stating it was not paid by my medical aid. Jan is a new year, new benefits but the claim was rejected. Worse service ever received by a medical aid, ontop of the ?R6000 pm fee for me, my wife and my son, had to pay in R1000 each month for our chronic medication. Most expensive mistake ever. | |||

Hello Cjay83, Further to our discussion, kindly note when your membership transferred from Bepmed to Topmed, you were billed in arrears and the agreement was that this would continue. As requested by yourself, we have made an exception to terminate your membership as of 31/12/2011. We wish to inform you that claims paid for January 2012 will offset from the premiums credited. I will liaise with you regarding any amounts that will be due to yourself. Kind regards Priscilla |
