THE INCIDENT

Since I Subscribe to ADSL in October 2007, I have spent more time on the phone reporting faults than I have had any kind of service, including a simple telephone service. I have spent large amounts of money on my cellphone waiting for the call centre to respond, often being shoved back to the beginning of the que or cut off by the 'Service Consultant'. I have also spent much time and money driving to telkom shops exchanging perfectly good modems for faulty one's because the technician claims a modem fault.

TRY THIS : WITH THE TELKOM SOFTWARE SUPPLIED WITH MODEM, RUN A FULL TEST. NOW UNPLUG THE LINE AND RE-RUN. THE RESULTS ARE IDENTICAL. HOW CAN THAT BE ?

The service has never been up for more than a few days or even hours at a time, and then it takes weeks to get someone to attend to it.

On Tuesday last wek I reported a line fault (no dialling tone). Before days end, I get an sms claiming the fault is resolved. On arriving home I see the line in the road (I have to drive over it). Of course, no service.. Today I am on my 4th call and have spent 3hours not being able to report the fault.

Would someone please sack the Telkom CEO (and much of the incompetent staff) ?
