An elderly, disabled couple (both on a disability pension) lost their telephone in a fire before Christmas. We sponsored a new application for them at the end of February. We are now into May, and they are still waiting for their telephone. I am told that there are no cables in their area. No one is able to tell me when such cables will be installed. They are "working on it"! The man in question has a heart condition, and Parkinson's disease; they have a son in hospital with whom they can't communicate. They desperately need this phone!
