I applied for a prepaid line telephonically 2007 and i went and paid 250 rands at Telkom in Cresta mall.then after 3 days i called the helpline again to confirm payment of which i was told i will get an sms to state the date of the installation.then i waited and waited.i use to call the help line with my contract cell phone and it was only free from a Telkom land line, everytime i called the help line number i was told there is no capacity where I am staying(what ever that means), I called Telkom to cancel the service. my fiancee' and I decide to move to a different area which is Clayville East and again on the 14th January 2008 we re-applied and paid the 250 rands at Cresta mall on the 15th January.i was taken on a roller coaster drive since then until to date, they came to put up a pole a month ago and vanished with no updates as to when are they coming again.we had to call them to ask when are we getting connected and only to be given the 14th of May.If Telkom takes 5 months to install one line how are they giving service to the whole of South Africa.maybe its time you reviewed and measure perfomance in your different areas of expertise more especially your front line staff.
