Every weekend my phone line goes dead. I spend up to 20 minutes (on cell phone) reporting the fault and service is restored on Monday. The following Saturday, the line stops working again. This has been happening since November. Telkom's explanation is that there is a "fault at the exchange" - but it would appear to be one which recurs every weekend, without fail. The bill is not adjusted for periods when the line is not available (up to the equivalent of one week per month). The line now give intermittent service during the course of the week, and sometimes has a great deal of static. The problem is not the telephone instrument. The web-based fault reporting service is not working - leaving only the option of spending a fortune on cell phone calls, while listening to recorded messages! |
