| Cable ***** in our area on December 30th 2011. Fault logged as per ref above. Followed up on 4th January. No response from Telkom on whether or not they are going to do anything about the problem. After a week, out of my own initiative I got one of those horrible wireless Huaweii radiophones that Telkom doles out on occasions such as this just so that my husband could carry on with his work, he is the editor of an American magazine and he operates from home so he needs the Internet. We used to have a 4Megabit per second DSL connection, now it is a 4 Kilobit per second connection which is barely usable for any of us and, only one machine can connect at a time to the Internet so no more network. Also, our data cap has been reduced to 2 gigabytes as opposed to 10 and they want 50 cents a megabyte if we go over the cap which means that our Internet has now become 20 times more expensive. Telkom's attitude is take it or leave it, talk about gun against the head marketing. And now we have heard that they aren't going to replace the cable. | |||

| Quite Impressed: Telkom got back to me with details of an even better bundle for a fraction of the price, which I took instead. Still, it's 30c a meg out of bundle as opposed to 1 cent for ADSL but I'm sure that prices will drop | |||
