Two incidents have motivated this complaint, both basically the same. In the first instance i ordered goods and only paid after an email letting was sent by the Sybaritic letting me know that the goods ordered were in stock. after paying i was informed that one of the items ordered valued at R182 was not available. Emails sent to the company were not awnsered. I eventually phoned them and was told that their supplier had misinformed them on the items availibility. I requested that they resend me the other items i had ordered and refund me for the item which they could not supply. They sent these items but instead of refunding me simply gave me a credit (gift voucher) with their company, something clearly in breach of the new consumer protection act. i again ordered other items (printer ink) in order to use my credit. The value of the items was R497. Again I only paid after being told that the items were in stock. i also paid immediatly after recieving their email. i have now been told that i will only get the items on 16 August ! The pattern is they con you into paying when they cannot supply the order in an reasonable timeframe and do not refund your money. |
