| I went online yesterday to do my business banking as usual only to see my Elite Cheque account has been removed from my Portfolio. I had reached an agreement with legal to diminish my overdraft (which was R 20 000) and is now sitting at about R 10 500, by paying R 1 000 per month which I am currently doing. I spent a half an hour this morning on the telephone to legal and after explaining my story, I was told they would come back to me (BUT HAVE NOT). Evidently the reason for the closure of my account is inconsistent payments (rubbish!) and expanding on this the lady said I had made a payment on the 24 Nov then only again on the 31 Dec. I was also told that each payment must be within 30 days of the last! My original agreement was to pay monthly and that is what I am doing! I find the treatment absolutely disgusting as they have now "handed" over my account. Nevermind the effect on my credit rating! And Standard Bank ignores the fact that I have a business account and Credit Card with them. As far as I am concerned this conduct by Standard Bank is not warranted and I would like an explanation. | |||

| Quite Impressed: The issue has been resolved and my account is in the process of being re opened, for which I am most thankful. My only issue is that it will take 5 - 7 working days. | |||
