Having just arrived in South Africa from Dubai I then proceeded with the long walk to domestic departures for my flght to DUR. The que was extreamly long and my flight was leaving in 40 minutes so I was panicking. I then saw a Star alliance saa platinum check in area with nobody there so went to check inn at that desk. The woman at the counter asked if I had an SAA platinum card and I said no. She then said, without asking me anything else "I am rfusing to serve you" What!!! I then asked who her manager was, she pointed to a counter with a long line. I now had about 30 mnutes before my flight departed. Another agent then saw my tags and asked if I had a Platinum card with Star aliance. I then said yes I have a life time atinum card with Star Alliance, a Gold card with Emirates, A Gold card with British Airways, a Gold card with Virgin. As I and my company allways used SAA to fly internally, that has now been stopped by me with emmidiate effect we will now fly British Airways internally. We spent about US$60,000 per year with SAA. British Airways will now get our business. This is as a direct result of putting people into jobs who have no idea!!!!
