It was on Friday 2 April 2008, evening at 19:29 at East London Airport, I was 29 minutes late to check in for a Flight to Cape Town at 19:55. The lady who was helping me to check in delayed me for about 10 minutes asking silly question like "If I wanted to check in a Bag or something" 3 to 4 times.
At 19:40 after she delayed me, she told me that the Flight was closed for checking in, at 19:45 there was an announcement calling for someone to come on board for the same flight i.e to Cape Town. At this I complained and ask why there were still calling for someone to board but not allowing me to check in, they told me that the person already checked in. At this point I was angry and I shouted at the lady who was suppose to be a Manager and instead of helping me she called the Securities and she delayed me for about another 5 minutes and at 19:50 there was still yet another final announcement for someone to board the same Cape Town flight.
I was not allowed to board or check in, I asked for further help, I was told to pay extra R371.00 for the next flight which is Monday 12:00. I wont be able to work on Monday, and the flight cost me an extra unnecessary amount
