So disappointed in a brand I have supported since I was a child, back in the 80's. My 3 year old son was diagnosed with celiac disease - he cannot consume any gluten - It damages the villi in the intestines, it can cause malnourishment, abdominal problems as well as other diseases. I contacted Simba & requested a list of their gluten free products to which they responded & I stuck to this list to keep my child gluten free. I also double checked the ingredients when buying the products, gluten was never listed on puffs & twistees. I noticed the packaging for puffs & twistees had changed, I read the ingredients & it stated it contained gluten. I contacted Simba to enquire about this. They took their time getting back to me & finally responded by saying there is only a small amount of gluten in these chips & now that laws are changing they had to stipulate it. I was surprised it was even on the list they supplied to me. Any amount of gluten - large or small is dangerous for celiacs. I asked Simba to send me a revised list of their gluten free chips. This was over 16 days ago & I am still waiting. What are we consuming when the companies we support cannot even give us correct |
