Poor Hygiene / Qualty Control Practice and Prducts

I have to express my disgust t the poor hygiene conditions at Shoprite Ridgeway. Early this week I went to the store to get some veg and fruit only to find produce that was close to rotting. A pack of bananas that I had taken I had to return just as I was to pay because I discovered it had mould.

Most annoying is that this is not the first time I found such terrible hygiene conditions, the last time I went to the extent of taking a photo and forwarding it to the contacts on their website because the crushed garlic was way past its sell by date with mould.

Even though this is the closest shop to where I stay I'd much rather drive to Spar or Pick and Pay because this is unacceptable. Through being inquisitive I took some time to observe other Shoprite stores and the conditions were the same if not worse, while in East London I went to the one in the CBD and there was a terrible stench inside the shop. This is totally unacceptable.

Over the Moon: I was extremely impressed with the handling of my feedback, Mr. Gert Boshoff called me. He explained he personally undertook a site inspection which confirmed the authenticity of my complaint and he put remedial actions to resolve it.

I also went to the store after this call and confirmed that the conditions had improved. I hope from now on a proactive approach is addopted so as to ensure that such problems are addressed before they happen
