| A USA Supplier got quotes on a parcel that had to be urgently sent to RSA. Schenker was the cheapest. When the box arrived here, they billed me an astronomical amount for clearance. MUCH more than the industry standard I'm used to. With their ridiculous pricing, the box of samples would cost more than the shipping & samples combined. I approached them and asked for market related pricing. They refused. I decided to have the box cleared by another company as Schenker obviously loads the pricing on this end to make up for the cheaper freight charges. Schenker then gave me a handover bill that is beyond ridiculous. I approached them yet again about the fact that they are overcharging me. Again they refused. I import on a monthly basis and know what their competitor's charge for similar services. I informed them that I had to leave on a 10 day trip and would have to deal with this matter when I got back. On my return I was shocked that without informing me, the box was sent to the states warehouse at an additional cost of R10 per day. Their "cheap" freight quote has cost me 3 times more than I would have spent if I used someone else!!!! The worst service I've had in 5 years of imports. | |||

Utterly Disgusted:
The attitude in their response is exactly what I got before. I approached them numerous times via email & telephonically and was stone-walled right in my tracks every time. If I did not pay the charges(I never agreed to these charges or contracted them for any services except the freight) they would not release my goods. I've had no CHOICE but to pay. I have email proof of all the above. It is a sad state of affairs as this was my test-drive for possible future dealings with this company..... |
