WHAT TO DO NOW

I STARTED A QUERY WITH SARS IN NOVEMBER 2010 AT WHICH STAGE THEY SAID THEY HAD SORTED IT OUT.
IN NOVEMBER 2011 I FOUND OUT ON E-FILING THAT I HAD A PROBLEM, WHICH AT NO TIME HAD BEEN COMMUNICATED TO ME.

I WENT INTO SARS RISSIK STREET 3 TIMES IN DECEMBER 2011 6 HOURS OF WASTED WORK TIME.

I WAS EVENTUALLY TOLD THAT MY MEDICAL CLAIMS WERE SORTED OUT AFTER MUCH SCANNING, PHOTOCOPYING ETC. I LEFT ON THE UNDERSTANDING THAT A REBATE WOULD BE FORTHCOMING IN 21 DAYS.

I FORTUNATELY ASKED THEM TO STAMP ALL MY DOCUMENTS AS PROOF THAT I HAD BEEN THERE.

I NOW FIND OUT THAT THEY HAVE A BACKLOG AND I MUST RE-ENQUIRE AT THE BEGINNING OF FEBRUARY.

I AM 70 YEARS OLD AND FAIL TO UNDERSTAND WHY I AM NOT ABLE TO SUBMIT MEDICAL CLAIMS AFTER HAVING BEEN HOSPITALISED FOR 3 WEEKS.

THIS MAKES ME VERY RELUCTANT TO EVER SUBMIT ANY OTHER THAN MY IRP5 AFTER HAVING BEEN A SOUTH AFRICAN TAX PAYER FOR 50 ODD YEARS THIS IS A FIRST AND LAST.

I HOPE SARS IS NOT GOING THE WAY OF ALL GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENTS
