This morning I accidently booked my ticket one day to soon. I phoned the call centre and that is where this unbelievable nightmare started. They has some kind of a system error and all my phone calls were cut off within a minute or two. NUMEROUS operators promised to call me back if the line cuts and not one ever did. It took me 4 hours to try and get this sorted out. When I finally managed to speak to an operator I was told that the class I booked was no longer available for the next day and I will have to pay an upgrade fee. The one up class was according to their online booking only R400 more expensive so I expected to pay the difference. But not with SAA, they insisted on charging my upgrade fee, penalties and who knows what else totaling to equal what I have paid already. The end result was me paying R2200 for my ticket that I originally purchased at R1100. I was also informed that no refunds can be done. If I booked the higher class directly all over again it would have been R1500, thus I had to pay R700 more for being to quick on the finger and selecting the wrong date. This was the worst experience I have ever had with an airline. I will NEVER EVER IN MY LIFE fly SAA. |
