I went to Buenos Aires 22/12/11. I only got my luggage 10 days later after spending half my trip making going to the airport, buying toiletries and clothes, emailing SAA and worrying about my bag. SAA on 3 separate occasions assured me that my bag was at an airport, when it wasn't. They are supposed to pay me out 75usd for 5 days (which is very little considering my bag was lost for 10) And now they even give me less as they want to deduct the conversion rate. SO instead of R3150 I only get R2400. The whole incidence cost me way more than that R600 in taxi fares alone.) There were lost SAA bags all over the EZE airport. SAA has a very bad reputation in South America for misplacing luggage. I've always flown SAA but now I'm considering never to fly it again, and mailing the footage I took of all the bags to Carte Blanche. In one of the email SAA send me they even said they will do a more precise search for my bag if it doesn't get to me within 10 days. I don't think SAA knows what they put me through this holiday. R2100 wont replace the sight seeing time I've missed. Or the clothes I had to buy. This is a great country and I think SA deserves a better national carrier |
