I travelled on Sa Express Flight SA1457 from Johannesburg to Port Elizabeth this evening and was apalled at the SCCM's attitude towards a fellow passenger. The person concerned was seated in2A and I was in 2B. Boitumelo Mmotlana, the SCCM, asked Mr Gary Deysel to move some frames which were in the overhead storage to a space in front of the aircraft. He asked Miss Mmotlana if she would please move them as they were not heavy and her response was "Do it yourself!" When he asked her a second time to move them as for him to move them would involve me getting up and moving into the aisle - she refused - I then got up and moved the frames myself - they were not heavy and unfortunately became embroiled in an altercation with Miss Mmotlana. When I asked for her name she refused to give it to me but later did give me her name. She then complained to the captain and when he made his announcements said "the cabin crew had specific duties and the passengers should respect their authority. He made no effort to investigate what had occurred. I have never experienced such a bad attitude from someone who is supposed to assist passengers, |
