Morbidly Obese Passanger

I was booked onto a flight from CT to PE on SA Express. To my dismay a morbidly obese man was booked in next to me.
An extension had to be inserted for his seatbelt before he could buckle up. He overflowed so much into my area that we had body contact and I was not able to sit straight in my seat. It would be fair to say that he used one quarter of my “space”.
I felt decidedly unhappy at having to spend the next one and a half hours in this position.
After take-off I requested to change seats. The plane was not full. I was informed that I had to return to my original seat for landing. I queried this as I could see no reason for it. I was given a lot of codswollop about the balance of the plane. I told her that if this was such a problem to inform the pilot of the situation.
Nearly half an hour before landing, I was told to go back to my compromised seat. I told the stewardess I was staying right where I was. This started a heated exchange and I was told about their rules and regulations. I have complained about this to SA Express on the customer care line and 2 phone calls them. After a week I have not had a response.
