| Many different Universities attended a conference in Richards Bay. A lot of us were booked on the 15:45 flight SA 1606 from Richards Bay to Johannesburg on 2011/08/12. At boarding time we were asked if there were passengers who could stay behind for the next flight as apparently the flight is overloaded. We could not stay behind as we were all traveling together from the airport back to Pretoria and no one else wanted to wait for the next flight. After everyone else boarded the plane we saw that there were 4 open seats and thought that someone decided to stay. At OR Thambo we waited a long time and after everyone else collected their baggage there were about 8 people who did not get theirs. We inquired at the Baggage department and were informed that our baggage were kept behind as the flight was overloaded. We apparently had a choice to get our baggage delivered to us or wait another 3 hours for the next flight. We had to wait as we had important documents in our baggage needed the next day. We are not happy because we were not informed that our baggage were removed, we checked in first so why our baggage ? and it wasted more than 3 hours of our time, apparently not worth anything | |||
