In October 2011, I visited the S4 Lifestyle Centre in search of my first Motorcycle. I was greeted with a smile from Des, who handled my queries with professionalism. He focussed my attention to a 2009 GSX-R 750 with 80kms on the clock. I picked up the bike on 19 November with a big smile on my face. The dealer informed me that the bike was a demo model from a Suzuki Dealership that closed down, and that the bike was in perfect condition. Since then, the bike has been returned for repairs (battery ran dead, F1 error codes and voltage regulator needed replacement (recall on K9 models). I was pleased with the assistance from Mohammed to get the repairs done. However, last week, while getting quotes on the 1000km service and oil change, Suzuki SA informed me that the bike is a grey import. According to law, the dealership is supposed to inform me of this matter. Both the seller and the buyer must sign a document as acceptance of this. Numerous dealerships I spoke to informed me that Grey Imports normally trade at around R10k less than book value. This also explains why I have not yet received a service booklet. Be careful when buying from then - and do your homework! |

Hello eyeless, We are a used motorcycle dealer .All our stock is bought locally and prices are based on the year model condition and Mileage.The bike we sold to you is a 2009 spec with all the correct configuration and natis which means that it is probably a parallel import.Parallel import bikes come from the same Suzuki factory in Japan but brought into S.A bike other bike dealers.These bikes are not recorded on Suzuki S.A system however all the spares and parts are available.Your bike was sold to you as a 2009 model on the natis with only 90kms at market price. Should you have a problem servicing your bike i can arrange to book in your bike at any Suzuki dealer.I look forward to keeping you as our valued customer and should wish to sell or trade in your bike we will not pinalise you based on it being and import but based on the mileage and condition.
