I went to Pick n Pay Doringkloof mall (Centurion) yesterday to get some things for Mother’s day. It was quite busy and not so many tills were open. I went to one of the cash points to pay, and the lady who was in front of me was busy paying. Her Credit Card was denied about 3 times and you could tell the people in the row were getting very annoyed waiting so long, but the lady who was busy paying just insisted that it’s impossible that her Credit Card can be denied, and insisted that they put it through manually again. By this time people started making loud and rude comments behind me towards the cashier who seemed very calm and collected. Eventually the lady paid with her Debit card (after trying about 5 times with her Credit Card). I was pleasantly surprised when I eventually got to the front that the cashier greeted me with so much enthusiasm even after hearing the nasty comments from behind me. It was like she really wanted to greet me and even ask me how my day has been. I wish I had taken her name as she really handled the situation with a smile. Good job!
