False advertising; Policy when asked for quote

On the 11th January, I phoned around for insurance quotes. I made it clear that I want a quote. Somewhere along the 40 minute conversation, I was asked if I was happy with the quote. I was happy with it. Lester then took this to mean, "Yes, I would like to take out a policy." No, that is not what I wanted.

Anyway, I immediately cancelled the policy when I realised what happened. Note that I would only be a customer once cover started, which was scheduled for 18 January. I then found a cheaper quote with MiWay. Then, when I asked Outsurance for the R200 as advertised, since they did not beat the quote, they said it is only for new customers, and since I had taken a policy previously, I was an existing customer. They then said they would review the conversation and get back to me to see if I did in fact accept the policy. To date, Yasin has not phoned me back (Yasin dealt with the cancellation of the policy). Your adverty clearly says: "If we cannot beat your quote, we will pay you R200." Nothing about new customers only, nor about on a like-for-like comparison.

OUTSURANCE, YOU ARE IN DIRECT CONTRAVENTION OF THE CPA FOR FALSE ADVERTISING!

Quite Impressed: Samantha and Melissa were very friendly. They believe that I did in fact take out the policy, they therefore make me ineligible for R200 as advertised. They could not beat the quote, and if my current insurer is great to me, Outsurance needs to know you've lost a client for life. That being said, Outsurance was friendly, helpful and asked me how they can make me happy. It was about the customer. I'm not over the moon because I was not made an Outsurance client. Thanks for trying though Outsuranc
