| On 27 January 2012 my wife and I decided to have dinner at Ocean Basket in Gateway. We approached a waiter at the entrance who offered us a table outside. His name was Owen. When he brought over the menus, he handed them to us and then asked us for our orders immediately saying that the kitchen was busy so we must order everything now. Frankly kitchen management is not our problem! Secondly, in the middle of taking our order he spots prospective customers and just ignores me mid sentence and goes to approach them. Then he comes back and asks me to repeat our order. I ordered the seafood platter for one and my wife ordered calamari - my food was ok except for the fish which was raw in the middle. My wife's food was a disaster with the calamari just being dumped in heaps of spice! When we spoke to the waiter about it he got annoyed and insisted that that is how the food is done there. Our drinks, mains and bill took ages to arrive at each time. I had to ask him 3 times to get us the bill because he was too busy concentrating on getting more customers. I didn't tip him because of the terrible service which resulted in him publicly embarrasing us as we left the place! | |||
