The NPDA stopped distributing my debt counselling payments to my creditors at the end of Jul'11. This was only rectified after numerous enquiries which eventually landed on the CEO's desk, only at which time action was taken.As a result my creditors did not receive any payments from me, leaving me in a very precarious legal situation, which I am yet to see if I have fully recovered from. The arrears payments were eventually distributed in November. I subsequently approached them to 1) Obtain their side as to how this occurred and how their systems failed to pick this up and 2) Compensation for the fees they received for doing nothing, the excess interest I incurred and arrears fees. Despite 4 emails to them I am (apart from acknowledgement of 1 email) yet to receive a response. For an organisation supposed to be playing a role in rehabilitation of a vulnerable segment of society, it is unfortunate that they are just in it for a quick buck. Bottom line: If you are entering debt counselling, check who the distribution agent is that your prospective debt counsellor uses. Research both before committing to anything. It could save you some sleepless nights. |

Hello wd2008, Good day The NPDA accredited and approved by th NRC,gets appointed by the DC to deduct and distribute funds according to a restructured payment plan presented through Care system. Development changes needed to be made to this system which caused system error on very small portion of our clients. System errors were fixed and distribution were done. Creditors were informed and arrangements were made NPDA compensated client with the fees loaded due to this error. We apologise for the inconvenience and would like to assure you of our best service at all times. |
