Nissan Patrol - Dash Board Problems

Let me first state that I have received first class service from Nissan SA and Imperial Nissan in relation to great communication.

I purchased a 2006 Nissan Patrol from Global Nissan early 2011. One of the things I picked up with my research was that there was issues with Nissan Patrols where some(most) of the dashboards started to bubble after a while. Basically the top of the dashboard shows a few small bubbles at first but it gets worse overtime up to a stage where the whole panel is full of unsightly bubbles. Luckily the Patrol that I purchased was bubble free at that stage, and I thought that the previous owner had it fixed.To my horror I discovered bubbles on my dash about 3 weeks ago. I immediately logged the problem with Nissan SA. (advise from fellow Patrol owners persuaded me to talk it up with Nissan for an exchange). The Customer service department was extremely helpful and directed me to my local Nissan Dealer(Imperial Menlyn) who took images of the dash and opened a case. I received a call from Imperial yesterday and was informed that Nissan will pay a part and I'm liable for about R3600. My question is why should I be liable for a faulty product??

Over the Moon: The guys at Nissan came to the party and after great communication and feedback all is sorted now. Thanks Nissan! I'll buy my third Nissan shortly.
