I applied for a personal loan of R 120K online and was approved, the lady told me to take verification documents into any Ned bank Branch which I did. Upon my first encounter with loan consultant the loan was down graded to R109K. I accepted anyway and we proceeded to complete the process. Since I complied to requirements the consultant said the funds will be in my account within 48 hours. 4 days later I received a sms to say the loan has now been declined. They did not ask the purpose of the loan, which I incidentally want to consolidate all my credit both revolving and fixed. I went back to the branch where the consultant connected me to the call centre whom informed me that it was declined due to affordability and when i asked to speak to someone else the phone was dropped in my ear, even to the astonishment of the consultant. I therefore came to the conclusion the Nedbank operated outside the law and I will also appeal at the CPA board even if I dont get the loan, maybe I will spare someone else this despair! |

Nedbank did respond promptly and for that I thank them. I would however like to tell them not to mention at any time other than when its true that the that the customer is actually approved for the amount applied for. Keep well. |
