| We opened TWO fixed deposits @t Nedbank Menlyn on 02/01/07. Both for the same amount rate & period. Yearly the deposits were automatically re-invested by the bank. Dec 2011 I received ONE sms informing me that the deposit will be re-invested if I do not inform the branch otherwise. At the beginning of January 2012 I phoned my personal banker and queried the TWO deposits. She then notified me that only ONE of the deposits was still open and that my daughters deposit was closed in 2009 and the money paid out to Menlyn Branch. Apparently the branch could not get hold of me. She then promised to re-open the deposit as well as the lost interest from 2009. The deposit was re-opened and the branch was suppose to pay out the interest which would then also be invested. The branch deposited the deposit and interest in my account on 06/01/09. I did not give written notice and no one contacted me. Menlyn does not want to accept responsibility for this. I have made several enquiries and a manager at Private Bank Brooklyn should have contacted me. Nedbank is quiet. Caroline has done all that she has said, investigated, re-opened the account, but the lost interest is still missing. | |||

| Quite Impressed: I received an e-mail from headoffice. A manager from private bankers contacted me and assured me that the interest will be paid back and that both deposits will be moved to Private Bank away from Menlyn. As yet I did not receive written confirmation of this, but I'm positive that the issue will be resolved. | |||
