PVR frustration

We got PVR for Christmas. Got my son to activate it for us through Multichoice call centre as I do';t understand much of what they are talking about. Got it going and my son was told that we would have to pay R60 to Multichoice (no where or how) within 24 hours or else we would be disconnected. I called Multichoice next day to find out where or how to pay this R60 and was told that it was not necessary - the extra charge for PVR would be included in my monthly subscription, which I pay monthly via debit order. So, I expected a monthly deduction of around R622. On checking my bank account I discovered however that Multichoice had deducted R1471.92 from my account! I called and was told it was because our old decoder had not been deactivated! I was given a reference number and told the superivisor would review the call and call me back. This never happened. I called again today and was told the same thing by quite an embarrassed and sympathetic call centre person. Have I been ripped off or what?

Quite Impressed: After a lot of frustration on my part I was contacted by Ntope Letlhake from Multichoice. My complaint was handled in a most professional manner and Ntope was very helpful and most apologetic. My suggestion that Multichoice Call Centre staff be better monitored and trained was noted as being constructive. My money was refunded inside of 7 days as promised. Thankyou
