Incorrect billing

I terminated my subscription to Multichoice on 15 August 2011. Multichoice later on sms'ed me that I owe them money. i ignored it as i paid all the relevant payments before cancellation. On the 30th December 2011, after I received a threatening sms from a debt collector, I phoned Multichoice. I spoke to Michael. He confirmed that I was in fact paid up and that I cancelled my subscription as and from 1 September 2011. He agreed that I am not indebted to them at all and that it was a mistake on their part as the cancellation was not given through. He apologized and promised to send me an email within the week to confirm the situation. I asked for a ref no for the conversation which he gave me as 89447877. This morning at 8'o clock I received a call from Dst v informing me that I owe them R147 and that I must pay it immediately.
This situation has now become an unnecessary nuisance. Furthermore, the next step would be to summons me and it would not be worthwhile to get involved in a court case for the sake of R147. It will mean that I shall have to pay the amount and further hundreds, if not thousands, of Rand plus they may obtain a judgment against me;
