| INCIDENT | Tue 24 Jan | ||
| HEADLINE | CALLED 3 TIMES; DEATH CERTIFICATE SENT TWICE |
||
|
I received the third call in so many weeks re my late father's account with Multichoice. Last night's call went as follows, more or less: Multichoice rep: "Can I speak to Mr W H Myburgh!" Me: "That is my late father. He passed away last year September. Are you calling from DSTV again?" Multichoice rep (very rude): "Can I speak to Mr Myburgh!" Me (upset): "NO, HE IS DEAD!" Multichoice rep: "Huh?" Me: "He died last year, you can't speak to him!" Multichoice rep: "Then can you sent me his death certificate!" At this point I have already exploded and I explained to him that this was the 3rd call and I have already sent it to them twice - with the ref no that they gave me! Now, please understand, I loved my father very much and miss him all the time. He was a good and faithful paying client of multichoice for many years. When he passed away, his bank account was frozen. My mom then decided to stop DSTV for a while until she sorts out her finances. She did phone DSTV about this. She is 81 years old; my dad was 80 at the time of his death. I sent the death certificate through again. Please stop phoning and tell your people not to be so rude at 9pm! |

| CUSTOMER'S FEEDBACK | wiltrudf | Time and Date | 14:12:40 | Thu 26 Jan 12 |
| Quite Impressed: I received prompt response from Multichoice. The harassing phone calls were actually made by staff members of a law firm appointed by Multichoice to recover R223.60 that is still outstanding on my late father’s account. The callers, however, never told me about this and just kept on asking for his death certificate after I’ve sent it twice and then a third time. They’re very rude and I would suggest Multichoice appoints another law firm who appoint properly trained staff. | |||
