I have had an upgrade on my MTN contract and received a Samsung Galaxy S II (this was in October/ Novemeber), however in the past 3 weeks the phone has had no reception. I intially took the phone to MTN Pavilion, were they said they would send the phone for repairs. When I received the phone a week later they said that the phone had a software problem, but in should work fine. However within a week of having the phone back the same problem started happening again. I then took the phone back to MTN Pavilion, and requested that as this was the second time the phone was faulty I would not like the phone repaired, but would immeditely like the phone replaced with a new phone. The manager inssisted that the phone would have to be assessed before phone would be replaced. However this is in direct violation of Consumer protection Act: "section 55, and the supplier must, at the direction of the consumer, either--(a) repair or replace the unsafe of defective item" I was very upset and then phoned the regional office, who said that matter would be uplifted to regional area manager. The matter has still not been resolved, and clearly the manager of this store does not understand the CPA. |
