When you bought the MTN LIGHT UNCAPPED router, dit they tell you it would become heavily shaped (256k) in February? I bought this from MTN, I was told it is "uncapped, nice speed" bla bla> Yesterday I got this SMS: Yello! From 01 Feb 12 the fair use policy will apply on MTN Uncapped Lite (256kbps after 3GB) & Pro (384kbps after 10GB) when the unlimited internet promo ends... When I bought this router, I was never told about the above! MTN, R299 is what I would normaly pay Vodacom for the same cap. Please talk to me. Steve |

Hello 44MD178, Thank you for your post. Apologies for the delayed response and inconvenience experienced. With regards to your query, the sms received means that the speed has improved. Before the start of the promotion, the MTN Uncapped Lite & Pro packages were subject to a fair use policy of 128kbps after customers had reached 3GB and 10GB respectively. As from 01 Feb 2012, MTN has enhanced the fair use policy so customers can enjoy higher speeds after reaching the fair use cap. This means that once they have used 3GB or 10GB of internet, their connection speed will be limited to up to 256kbps for MTN Uncapped Lite and 384kbps for MTN Uncapped Internet Pro for the remainder of their billing month.
