| On the 16th January 2012 VW quoted me R15000.00 to replce a bearing in my T5 Kombi. After being at the dealership for over a month the car was delivered back to me with spare parts in the boot. VW took the car back to the workshop and delivered it back an hour later. The initial complaint was a knock in the gearbox when you select 1st 2nd or reverse gear while stationary, hence the bearing replacement. When I drove my vehicle there was a constant knocking noise in the gearbox which knocked faster as I drove faster.I took the vehicle back to VW and was promised a speedy repair. I then got a call from the service manager telling me that my gearbox was beyond repair and need to buy a new gearbox at R42000.00 and still pay for therepairs to the old gearbox at R15000.00. I phoned the dealer principal and told him he was being rediculous and he then phoned me back and agreed he could not charge me for both repairs. The dealer principal denies that he has any responsibility to honour his first quote and insist the new gearbox is for my account even though he delivered an apparant"serviceable" Kombi to my house. The fact that the gearbox broke just after they repaired it does not bother VW | |||
