Went to return a Lexmark printer that i bought less that a week ago at Makro as it was loosing the wireless connect, the returns counter then informs me that they have to contact Lexmark to evaluate the problem before anything can be done, I ask how are you going to do that as the connection to my PC;s cannot be done with Lexmark .Then they say that according to the new CPA they cannot accept goods back for a refund anymore as it has to be authorised by the supplier, so much for the 14 day money back policy. They tried to contact Lexmark but they are not available at the weekend so nothing can be done. looks like a case of passing the buck to me. What does the CPA have to say about returning products that you do not want within the first week due to problems |

Hello ianmau, Thank you for raising your concern with us. I believe our Administration Executive Manager (Afsana Essop) was called to come and assist you and you were advised that Lexmark requires the store to call them first for trouble shooting and she promised to resolve the matter this morning because Lexmark don't operate on weekends. We have been informed by Germiston Management that the matter has been resolved as promised. Again we will take the necessary steps to also inform Store Sales Assistants about the Lexmark policy and also that Lexmark ensure all information is written on their manual booklet. Thank you once again for bringing this to our attention, and we trust that going forward, we can assist you with other purchases or queries that you may have.
