I bought an LG Solardom for R3,500 from Makro in July 2011 to replace a 20 year old AIM. It ceased operating on Sunday 5th February 2012 - no lights, no LED, no clock. We phoned the LG call centre on Monday morning, around 10 times to arrange for a service technician to come through and fix it. This was finally agreed after quite a while (10 calls) (Clinton in the call centre), and the technician was due to arrive on Tuesday. Hasn't happened yet - LG have retracted the offer to send out a technician (Lydia in the call centre). LG main switch board in JHB refuse to let me speak to the director of LG SA in order to sort this issue out. Far as I am concerned LG's after sales service is non-existent, and this is the second time that i have run into hassles with LG, first time was with their monitors which had persistent imaging that couldn't be fixed - don't use those any more, and now their service on a not inexpensive microwave is just as dismal. I don't know if LG cares - I don't think so - but hopefully this serves as a warning to others, and here's the thing - I shall buy a new microwave, and it won't be LG - in fact I shall never buy LG again.
