Kia Sorento CRDi purchased from this dealer 2010. 3 services done at the dealership with satisfactory results. Last service done at 60,000km. On Saturday 14/1/2012 vehicle engine made terrible screaming noise with smoke coming from engine. Kia Roadside assist contated - tow truck arrived and took the vehicle to Kia Motors, The Glen. The Glen found that the sump plug was loose and the car had lost 2 litres of oil. Their assumption was that some oil had got onto a pulley and the exhaust causing the noise/smoke. A full report was given to the Matthew Nortje at the Edenvale franchise on the 18/1/012. Total cost was R589.40. He said he would speak to the Service Manager and give me feedback. At the time I got the feeling that I was a nuisance and would get no feedback. I have since done approx. 1200kms and the vehicle is going perfecty. If this is Kia Edenvales way of handling a cusomer complaint of such a small amount of money, they are certainly not doing the Kia name any justice. I am absolutely delighted with the vehicle , but cannot approve of the poor handling of what must have been a service claim which could have cost Kia SA a new engine as the vehicle is on motor plan. |
