Total South Africa - Great Attitude - Super Service and great attitude

We were on our way to the Kruger National park and stopped for some refreshements at the Alzu Petroport. The staff at the Mugg & Bean counter were friendly and helpful, considering that we were there at about 5 am. She assisted us, with a smile.

It is nice to see that service with a smile still does exist. Thank you very much.

Shell South Africa - Bad Attitude - Sorry we are busy

I popped into Shell service station on Samrand road Centurion this evening at 17h10. All I needed was to check my car's water and tyre pressure. I had the misfortune of being attended to by someone called "Benni/ Benny".This chap struggled to open the water expansion tank, leaving it up to me to open which I did within two seconds. He then vanishes and upon return i expected a water container in his hand only to find him returning with a paper towel to check my oil. This chap obviously thought im an idiot, because i noticed him inserting the oil dipstick only partially back in before explaining to me that i need oil.I explained to him THRICE that i only needed my water level to be checked as well as a check on my tyre pressure. He then told me that " we are busy at the moment" and i should check the tyre pressure myself.I told him that i was going to give him a tip and showed him the R5 coin after which he grinned and then wanted to assist me. I told him that he was lazy and didnt want to work. Is this your new business model, because I pass two Caltex stations to and from work each day on the N3.We the public DONT need you, WE pay your staff's salaries. Forget seeing me again!

Bp Southern Africa - Out of Stock - Pathetic planning and even worse customer service

Initial Report
Guys, promotions on beverage are put in place in order to drive sales. How on earth do you intend to drive sales with NO STOCK. I stopped at BP Malibongwe rd today in order to purchase the special that BP is running on Monster energy drinks. I buy 12 at a time every week for the office.
After driving in the opposite direction to take advantage of the special I got to the fridge to find no stock on the green version. I asked the cashier and her response was "eish, no stock". I then asked for a manager and received a "we have no stock" as a response.
Thank you for your response to the 2 staff members, how that is supposed to solve the problem, is beyond me. The CONSUMER is not supposed to suffer, isn't that the point of the CPA? IF YOU DON'T HAVE STOCK, DON'T ADVERTISE A SPECIAL! SIMPLE.
If this is a supplier problem, its even simpler.. DON'T RUN PROMOTIONS WITH SUPPLIERS WHO CANT COPE WITH THE DEMAND.
I most certainly wont support BP Mailbongwe again, They could have offered me a chappie and the same price on a different brand, "Eish" is not a solution to a problem.
the 5 P`s rule applies here. Proper planning prevents poor performance!

Company Response
23rd May 2012, 2:38pm

Hello dcs1111,

Initial Report
Why spend a lot of money on advertising if you are not going to supply your BP Express shops with the figurines that you are suppossed to recieve when spending over R35 in the shop.As has happened in various store in the Benoni and Bonaero Park area. When enquiring you are told sorry we havent been supplied. What a waste of time if you cant supply the goods pull the advertisments.

Company Response
22nd May 2012, 3:50pm

Hello almac,

Bp Southern Africa - Refund - Quick Response

Initial Report
I would like to compliment BP South Africa as well as Paul Schaefer of Express Green Point. After lodging a complaint before 9am May 14th I already received a response on Hellopeter as well as an email and an act of courtesy from the vendor within a matter of hours. Good service is hard to come by these days and as a loyal customer of BP, Wild Bean Cafe and Pick n Pay I really appreciate the way in which the situation was handled. Thanks so much!

Company Response
22nd May 2012, 10:08am

Hello tashajade,

Total South Africa - Going the Extra Mile - Recycling

Hi, I live close the the Total on Malibongwe Drive. I have been making use of the recycling bins provided at the petrol station. I just wanted to say thank you to total. I often find myself in a queue to recycle my waste. I have recycled plastic, paper, glass, tin and paper ever since I first saw the bins. I often meet the same people there as well! Thank you for providing this service. The only possible negative I can think of is that so many people are using the facility that material needs to be removed more often.

Total South Africa - Carwash - Carwash fiasco while manager stuffs her face...

Initial Report
I was waiting while my car was being washed at the Total Service Station on the corner of Robert Broom Drive & Swanevelder street. After about 45 min, the attendant asked me to move my car so they can start vacuming. However, the guy whose car was washed after mine was almost finished (and he had taken an option to have his car polished as well). When I asked while they only asked me then to move my car, I was told very curtly that they did not have enough power outlets. Why wasn't I asked first to move my car, seeing as I was first in the queue?

When I asked to speak to the manager, she came out, ignored me completely, and had a few words with some staff members. Then she went back in, only to reappear a few minutes later, eating what I suppose was her lunch, completely oblivious to the situation. Another car was being finished while I was still waiting for my car.

When they finally finished, no apologies were forthcoming, and they just went on as if nothing happened...

This is absolutely pathetic! I highly recommed people to NOT use the carwash at ANY Total Service Station. They might just start swearing at us...

Company Response
21st May 2012, 2:13pm

Hello rhnstadler,
