Computer Corporation - Billing / Accounts - Computer Coruption ---- Corporation

Initial Report
My wife's laptop froze and was handed it in to repair, on inspection was told the hard drive needs to be replaced and the old drive to be fitted in a case to be used as a external drive not to loose the contents.I was quoted on the telephone by Craig and the total cost came to R1900.00 and told him to go ahead .Today I collected the laptop and recieved a bill of R2699.01 on enquiry I was told the workshop fees was not added on.My wife asked the owner how can this be possible and he said we must ask a quote and she told him that we had a telephone quote and he admitted to her that his guys never do propper quotes . I feel that this is a sly manner of doing bussiness to trik the customers into doing repairs and then over charging them when they collect there computers. The invoice we recieved does not reflect the prices per item but only shows a total amount .I will not have them or anyone I know have a computer fixed there or for that matter buy there.

Company Response
24th May 2012, 11:02am

Hello dvisser,

Thank you for reporting the matter to us.

The incident has been investigated and I am pleased to inform you that it has been decided to reimburse your wife accordingly.

Kindly note that all work performed by our technical department bears a workshop fee as per our displayed notices at all branches. Unfortunately, it is not always possible for our workshop technicians to before hand, issue quotes on these fees due to the nature of work and time involved. However, where possible, we do our utmost best to issue workshop quotes as accurately possible.

In light of the above, it would be appreciated if you could call at the relevant branch at your earliest convenience in order to get the matter sorted. Kindly remember to take along the relevant invoice and present it directly to Mr. Eckard, the relevant Branch Manager, please.

Kindly accept our apology for this unfortunate incident and any inconvenience caused to you, our valued customer.

Kind regards

Evetech Solutions - Going the Extra Mile - The Best computer I ever had!!

I bought a pre-built system from evetech in Dec 2010 and in all this time I've had little to no problems!

The system has been running solid for the last year and a half. I'm quite a seroius gamer and the system has been performing above expectations in all games I've played.

The only issue I've had was the normal dust that packs on in any system, but once it's cleaned, it continues working as the day I got it. I've not needed to do any OS re-installs whatsoever!

This is all due to Evetech that use quality components in their systems and the proper testing that is done to ensure that the system is stable before it's given to the customer. Components are installed properly and cables are hidden in the most optimal way possible. They even allowed me to provide my own Power Supply and DVD Rom which was installed and used during their testing. They also include some overclocking to give you more performance.

I've recommended their service to everybody that asked me about buying computers and I will continue to do so as I've got solid proof of their product.
This really is the best value for money!

Intuit Quickbooks - Feedback - Intuit Quickbooks

Received a call within a few hours from the SA Johannesburg office regarding my complaint, explaining the thinking of the parent supplier company Intuit as to why circumstances leading to my previous complaint arose.
Although Intuit's actions don't make sense and still seem largely opportunistic, Gary Epstein assures me emphatically that this is not the case.
He has furthermore gone the extra mile to alleviate and resolve the problem Thank you Gary.

Asus South Africa - Feedback / Response - ASUSTek and broken promises

My father bought an ASUS laptop in August 2008. The left hinge on this laptop has completely worn out and the laptop can no longer be used.

On the 13/03/2012 he contacted ASUS HQ requesting assistance in sourcing the hinge. ASUS HQ subsequently handed the issue over to Sherissa Arnachillam from ASUSTek SA.

On the 19/03/2012 Sherissa contacted my father promising to help source the part and on the 03/04/2012 he had still not received any response from Sherissa. I decided to assist my father and emailed Sherissa requesting feedback.

After numerous emails to Sherissa, half of which were to remind her to give the feedback she had promised.

Sherissa contacted me telephonically on the 18/04/2012 and confirmed that a part had been found and that the just needed to get it delivered to SA and which would arrive around the 14/05/2012.
On the 15/05/2012 I emailed Sherissa requesting feedback she replied "I do apologize this items has been ordered & but for some reason there was further delay, I'm following up with them at Head Office & should give response by tomorrow." This was the last response that we have received from her.

It is now the 23/05 and i'm yet to receive feedback.

iFix iPod Repairs - Repairs / Servicing - Promised replacement computer for 1 month

I submitted my Macbook for repair. The shop in Melrose Arch was burgled and my laptop stolen. I was promised a replacement Macbook in the next week. Multiple visits to shop in subsequent weeks have only resulted in the replacement being promised the next week. I have now been without a computer for over a month. Shop says that my model is out of production and they are having trouble sourcing it. Now worried I will be fobbed off with second hand goods.

Intuit Quickbooks - LACK OF ETHICS - QUICKBOOKS DECEITFULNESS

Intuit Quickbooks devious, unethical, dishonest practices in their upgrades. For some 6 years I have been using Quickbooks 2006 Pro. Recently we were advised that Quickbooks no longer supports that version. That version also evidently does not run on Win 7. Having installed Win 7 on my PC I bought and paid R2,200-00 approx for the upgrade of the Quickbooks package to Quickbooks 2012 Pro, assuming that this was an upgrade and improvement of the Quickbooks 2006 Pro.
I assumed wrong. They have very sneakily and in my opinion dishonestly and deceitfully removed some of the core functionality and placed it in the PREMIER EDITION for which you have to further upgrade at a significantly higher cost, a further R1,360.00. This functionality being the "Assemblies" of products for sale, which is a key function in any business that manufactures or assembles an item for sale.
This effectively means that Quickbooks 2012 Pro is only half the package that Quickbooks 2006 Pro was. It should be called "QUICKBOOKS AMATEUR", NOT Pro.
It is actually a massive downgrade which is a ripoff in anyone's language.
There was no warning of this. Devious, Opportunistic, Disgusting and Deceitful

Computer Corporation - Repairs / Servicing - Hopeless Service and Customer Care

Initial Report
I am an I.T. Professional and have been purchasing equipment from the above mentioned supplier, the last two computers which I have purchased from this store have both been faulty well within the warranty period. First my LG laptop had screen faults and was taken in for repair, a week and a half later it had still not been sent in for repair, but still at the shop. I then took the laptop back as it was urgent and I needed it for presentations.

I then bought a system for my daughter and the motherboard packed up within a month and I had to go through hell and numerous visits in order to get it sorted. Now the hard drive on the laptop has packed up and it was taken in to the shop over a week ago to get repaired and when I asked them to treat this with urgency I was promised it would be back by today, when I phoned, I found that the laptop had once again not even been sent to the supplier for repair yet!

This in my opinion is really lousy customer service and then still to be met with attitude by the sales staff, I am done doing business with Computer Corporation!

Company Response
23rd May 2012, 9:44am

Hello Dave555,

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

However, the supplier's time frame for repairs are between 7 and 14 working days and, unfortunately, we do not have any control over this period and or the relevant supplier.

As soon as the item has been returned to the branch, you will be notified accordingly in order for you to collect the item at your earliest convenience.

Kindly accept our apology for this unfortunate incident and any inconvenience caused to you, our valued customer.
