I have now been complaining to their technical support for more than a year and it does not help. I get various excuses and "tips" like adjusting my MTU settings but it does not help. Fact is that since about March last year their connection speeds have deteriorated and is now so bad that it is basically unusable. If I want to do any serious Internet usage at home I need to connect my PC with a MTN 3G dongle. It is no use having been given 4GB cap last year and now 20GB a month if it is unusable. Searching around on the Internet I notice that there are many complaints as to iBurst connection speeds, including HelloPeter. I took a speed test on my PC for a hour and 50 minutes this morning and these are the readings: Current Transfer Rate - 1.52 KB/s, Average Transfer Rate - 3.05 KB/s, Total Data Transferred 19.9 MB. Come on! This is in nearly 2 hours! This is ridiculous! I presume that iBurst has now overloaded their lines with subscribers, which makes it unusable, especially in the evenings and over weekends, and it is time to move on. I hear that Neotel has lightning fast speeds. |
