| Eleven years ago we bought a property in Heidelberg on a sale in execution arranged by Hammond Pole & Dixon instructed by First Rand bank. In May we sold the property & had to vacate by end August. We were unable to give transfer by this date as the deed handed to us by HP&D had somehow lost a clause stating that the property could not be sold without 1/6 portion of the communal road. In spite of numerous attempts to contact Mr Alan Hartman of HP&D by the transferring attorney & ourselves we were unsuccessful. The sale was cancelled. We had by then signed a 1 year lease for rental property at R4000 per month, arranged our move, paid for an electrical clearance certificate, face a R50 000 commission claim and a monthly municipal charge of R900. HP&D claim they have done nothing wrong. Should they be allowed to walk away from a mess they have creaed, blame free? | |||
